Last up in our series of ‘Angel’ introductions, we have our wonderful Angel Jeff...
Whilst Jeff hates being called an Angel, he is always up for some coffee, cake & a catch up with his lovely East Anglia customers, at our showrooms or out on the road. Jeff has enormous passion and excellent understanding of the gift industry - so make sure you use and abuse him for his industry knowledge! Jeff is a big music & football fan, so he always has plenty to chat about! Just don’t ask him about when he had to wear pink wellies...
Jeff couldn’t decide which was his favourite Christmas theme this year. He was torn between Glitz & Glamour and Alpine, so we decided to put it to the public vote on social media recently and we had over 50 votes with Glitz and Glamour being the overall winner! Did you cast your vote?...
This is what Jeff had to say about one of his favourite collections for 2022 - Glitz and Glamour, all presented on our huge display wreaths and he said:
“Everyone loves a bit of Glitz & Glamour at Christmas! If you are planning to feature silver and/or gold in your retail displays, we’re sure to have lines for you. To give your displays the “glam” factor, mix opulent gold details with hints of silver and go heavy on the sparkle! We’ve got an abundance of glimmering tree toppers, T-Light holders, and our polyresin mice in silver and gold (YIN011A), have been “best-sellers” for us for many years!”

Marina has worked managing design studios within the giftware industry for 12 years, and so has a fantastic eye for style & trends. Marina also has many, many years of experience as a sales manager in this industry, so she really knows how to understand her customers & help their business thrive. When she’s not catching up with her customers in the south east of England, Marina loves spending her weekends perusing art galleries & antique fairs.
We asked Marina to pick her favourite collection for 2022, all presented on our huge display wreaths and she said:
Opulence is my favourite as it’s quirky & fantastic for consumer home decor. It helps to give retailers fantastic ideas for displays, and really create unique displays which customers just love. Opulence is one of the most versatile ranges which retailers can pick display items from for Autumnal, and even Spring/Summer looks. The large birds suit characterful businesses for all-year-round displays, I even take this look home and have a bird festooned wooden garland draped around an archway in my own dining room - I love it!
Some of my favourites are: The below deer head JA075, It’s a stunning piece for an Autumnal window and particularly suits our country customers and can be a fab centrepiece all year round.
Our gorgeous resin pheasant decoration with feather tail KCC921, is also a favourite with countryside lovers.
The new colourway of tealight holders such as SFZ862A/B is a sophisticated look of gold foil reindeer designs on matt pale blue glass. The black glass is so stylish, and these have been so popular with our customers
Our ever-popular mix of jolly clip-on birds BRD029 below, in muted autumnal colours, are so fun & can be added anywhere! And our large fabric patchwork gourds JA090 and ever-popular toadstools such as JA125B & JA094 are also perfect for Autumnal window displays.
Our large jewelled fabric butterflies below like JA098 and clip-on dragonfly JA119 are so versatile & can be used alongside jewellery, scarves and accessory areas in gift shops as decoration. And EEW018 are a mix of 3 adorable toadstools with velvet tops, they’re ideal placed around children’s areas in stores and they always sell well for my customers.
And finally, I just love our stunning sequinned fabric hearts DAT031C & DAT031E and pretty velvet red leaf garland SNS222. Our glittered velvet pink & red flower pieces CODD737 also work so well altogether to create a luxurious & romantic look.

Andrew has more years in the card & gift Industry than he would like to admit to! He’s passionate about building strong relationships with each of his customers & looking after their business as if it was his own. When Andrew’s not travelling around the North of England visiting his customers, he loves cooking food and enjoying some good wine with it. He also spends his Saturdays umpiring Hockey matches, he has played Hockey for 30+ years!
We asked Andrew to pick his favourite collection for this year, all presented on our huge gorgeous display wreaths and this is what he said...
My favourite has got to be Winter Wonderland. This year’s wreath for Winter Wonderland is simple and beautifully decorated with sophisticated whites & silvers, which is carried throughout this stunning collection. A minimalistic theme which still has a bold and timeless style, makes it a winner for years to come.
Some of my favourites are our playful Penguin & Polar Bear standing figurines, such as BAZ009 & BAZ026, they make fabulous statement pieces in window displays that really help create that magical eye-catching Wonderland scene. For smaller items that also work well alongside the larger pieces, BAZ034 & BAZ008C tie in with these perfectly.
Some of my other favourite items are our light-up decorations; they really emulate the magic of Christmas & we have quite a unique selection. Available as trees, baubles, lanterns & even Gonks - we have a real variety of light-up pieces to choose from with my personal favourites being: BOC166, BBQ722, BBQ597 & DXX081B.

Angels, but she has now been flourishing even more as an on the road Angel for the past few years. Angela has over 20 years experience in customer service & sales, and loves working closely with our lovely customers & making their lives easier & happier! When she’s not working she loves spending time in the sunshine with her family, friends & new puppy Milo!
We asked Angela to pick her favourite collection for this year, all presented on our huge gorgeous display wreaths and this is what she said...
"The Autumnal Halloween wreath is my favourite…. because we’re not just for Christmas!! Over the last few years, we have extended our Halloween range to incorporate a very on trend Autumn collection. This has proven to be very popular with many customers now doing huge Autumn displays using Wreaths, Garlands, Pumpkins, Toadstools etc. Then once Halloween is upon us, they then add more traditional Halloween pieces including our Seasonal Gonks, Metal & Ceramic Pumpkins alongside our fun & spooky signage. This spreads the cost and availability over a longer period."
She then went on to tell us about her absolute favourite products from the Halloween range...
"I love all of the velvet pumpkins! They look beautiful in a porch or covered doorway or in a fireplace. We have a nice range/mix of colours such as KAA020C, KAA020BG or KAA053. HOM027 is a fun spider bowl perfect for holding Halloween treats. And KAA023 is an
adorable bag of pumpkins that look beautiful displayed in a bowl if you are having a Halloween get together, these can also be split and sold separately.
FMA023 is a lovely set of 3 Metal Pumpkins... I mean why would you want to spend time
carving a pumpkin, when these can be put out every year! KAA049A is ideal to display above a fireplace or around a front door with pumpkins. Also looks fab alongside KAA050! Seasonal gonks SUZ566, are really on trend, so you really can’t go wrong with them! And TM045 is a great pocket money pick up item, that can be used year on year.
Our trick or treat bags - items HO731A, HO731B and HO731C are perfect for carrying around those spooky sweets & gifts. Trick or Treat garland XHP111 is perfect to hang in windows. And our witchy chalkboard HLD489 is fun to display in the garden with some spooky messages!"

"I love Traditional...Christmas is everyone’s favourite time of the year and I especially like the start of December when the countdown really begins! In our Traditional collection we have a large selection of countdown Calendars, which are a great way to kick off the start of December. They are a favourite with all children and one of our bestsellers, with over 17 fabulous designs to choose from, along with an excellent range of price points.
Traditional always gets Christmas off to a good start with some amazing statement pieces. Our beautiful range of traditional bells in a variety of colours make a fantastic display in any business, with prices from just 69p to £30+ plus. The smaller selection of bells are so perfect for any wreath making Station or additions to bespoke product, they're also available in every colour and size!
Our selection of proud standing soldiers are perfect for any entrance, along with our lovely post boxes. They create the perfect scene and make any customer wanting to see more.

Did you attend Jan’s Visual Design seminar and workshop at our Retail Festival held this summer? If you did, you no doubt went away feeling inspired and ready to create some brand new displays.
For any of you who may have missed it, here’s seven simple, actionable steps from the expert to help you create amazing visual displays that will grab people’s attention and turn them into customers!

1. Plan & Prepare!
Failing to plan is planning to fail, as they say! Make your life easier by planning ahead and preparing all of the materials you will need in advance. Have you decided on a theme, colours etc.? It may help you to sketch out what you are planning for reference.
Plan your display updates ahead of time, factoring in seasons & important occasions such as Mother’s Day, Valentine’s day, Easter etc. Pop them in your calendar so you & your customers don’t miss out!
2. Change Your Displays Often
Keep your displays fresh and engaging by rotating stock often. This will help keep people’s interest.
These rustic trolleys are the perfect base for creating a versatile (and mobile!) display which can literally be carted around your retail space.
3. Risers are a Must!
What’s a riser you ask? Anything that can be used as a surface to elevate a product, such as a box, a crate etc. Risers give height and variation to displays and are essential elements in the creative process, lifting from one level to several… the result is a visually appealing product presentation without much effort!
Crates & boxes make the perfect risers, especially if they come in a variety of heights like our RAM017 crates. They even have a chalkboard for some interesting typography or maybe you wish to highlight an offer?
It’s amazing how you can transform some old boxes you may already have with a coat of paint, or cover them in wallpaper. They’ll be so appealing in their own right that your customers will want to buy them too!
4. Pyramid, Grouping & Space
This is the core theory of setting up an engaging display, so write this one down!
Working in a pyramid shape is vital to creating an eye-catching & professional display. Start with the largest and tallest items at the back and then build up the display moving outwards and downwards.
In this case, less is definitely more… leave room around the edges for the whole display to breathe. Reserve the main sections of the display for your star products and bestsellers.
Keep it simple until you get the hang of this technique… our pyramid display units are the perfect place to start RAM020.
5. Add Some Height
Work on adding height to your display to attract attention & draw your customer’s eye down to the main focus point no matter where the display is situated.
Our birdcage table top units will do the trick.
6. Finishing Touches
Put your own personal stamp on the display with the finishing touches. These are so easily forgotten but makes the difference between a standard display to a show-stopping one!
Smaller decorative items really bring the look together- the devil is the in detail! Try faux flowers for that added splash of colour to compliment your larger pieces. No watering required!
7. Regular Housekeeping
You’ve put all this effort into creating a beautiful display- don’t let it get untidy! Tired and dusty displays will not help your sales. Follow this checklist to maintain your displays:
• Check your lighting- do any bulbs need to be replaced? Are they dusty?
• Is the display facing the traffic flow- things get picked up and turned, make sure they are put back facing where most of your foot traffic is coming from
• Has anything fallen?
• Are your windows dirty? Give them a good clean so they sparkle. Don’t forget dusty window sills and dead flies…
• Has any of the product faded in the sun? Time to replace them to keep the display looking fresh.
