  • Create your own Opulence wreath

Create your very own show-stopping wreath display. Our Opulence collection is the perfect 'maximalist' approach to Christmas... with rich, deep colours, luxurious fabrics and bejewelled statement pieces.

    1. Spray your wreath gold back and front, working the spray into wreath fronds.

    2. Apply light fixing from a point at the top, weaving the longer lengths down to the bottom. Leave any ends of unused lights dangling to work in later.

    3. Fix the pheasant (or key product) using strong wire attached at its legs. Force the feet to stand on the rear main part of the wreath.

    4. Apply twig brand decorations to entire wreath, allowing them to naturally fall at the bottom of the wreath into a point.

    5. Add the next largest item, dragonflies, on key points on the wreath but avoid placing them in a symmetrical fashion. Use florist wire to attach.

    6. Add remaining chosen products, work around the key products using existing strings attached to the product to tie to the wreath fronds or use florist wire. Don’t allow the smaller products to distract from the main items. This is an opulent theme so you can really have fun adding to the wreath making it look full and indulgent.

    7. Hang up your wreath and enjoy!

  • CREATE YOUR OWN FAIRYTALE DISPLAY WREATH

Fairytale is a collection you can have a lot of fun with. Stick to the pastel palette, but anything else goes… even a ballerina frog! The same display design principles for the wreath can be applied to year-round displays featuring your Fairytale products. The only limit is your imagination.

    1. Start by spraying the wreath with a mix of white and pale pink- allow some natural green to remain as this contrast with the pink product really makes them pop. Apply the string lights at the top of the wreath and work through ensuring the longer lengths go down to the bottom. Leave any ends of unused lights dangling as these can be woven in later.

    2. Use strong wire to fix the frogs (or your key product) to the wreath, passing the wire out of sight through the back. Fix by twisting the wire around the main body of the wreath or choose a thick branch. Cut the base of the frog’s feet so you can able to create different poses, as if they are dancing.

    3. Apply pink bristle trees by pulling off the stand and untwisting the base wire. This can be used to fix them to the wreath. Mingle your smaller chosen products around the wreath but don’t let them overpower the frogs. Be sure to cut the hanging cord off any products to keep it neat. Create a ‘V’ shape when choosing the product positions and cluster at the bottom in an upside-down teardrop shape. This gives the wreath a full, attention grabbing look.

Hang up your wreath and enjoy!

  • Create your own Alpine Display Wreath

Do you want your Christmas displays to WOW? Here's how... taking inspiration from our Alpine collection.

The key to achieving the Alpine look is to keep colours fresh and natural. The collection features muted tones, chalky natural woods and gorgeous contemporary foliage. Its the perfect fresh and natural look for Christmas.

Here's the recipe from the experts, so you can create your own:

    1. Start by lightly spraying the wreath with matt white spray, front and back. Work the spray into the wreath’s branches but don’t completely cover… allow some of the natural green tones to show through to give a frosted effect.

    2. Adding lights is the perfect way to create more visual interest… and to catch customer’s attention on the dark winter days as they pass by your window. Apply your light’s fixing point to the top using florist wire, working the lights through ensuring the longer lengths reach down to the bottom. Leave any unused lights dangling as they can be woven in later.

    3. Choose a couple of key products for your focal point (such as the gonks). Position the gonks so they sit together and attach by making two holes in the gonk base and using strong wire to anchor to the wreath.

    4. Add the glitter star garlands, starting at the top and working through allowing the remaining garland to dangle to a point at the bottom.

    5. Add remaining smaller product concentrating on spacing around the gonks to frame them. Use the existing strings attached to the product to tie to the wreath branches or use florist wire. Disperse a few products around the sides and top but know when to stop! Less is more, the focus is on the central products.

    6. Weave through any remaining lights that are left dangling.

Hang up your wreath and enjoy!

  • Make your Merchandising AMAZING with Jan Billings' Top Display Tips!

Did you attend Jan’s Visual Design seminar and workshop at our Retail Festival held this summer? If you did, you no doubt went away feeling inspired and ready to create some brand new displays.

For any of you who may have missed it, here’s seven simple, actionable steps from the expert to help you create amazing visual displays that will grab people’s attention and turn them into customers!

IN STOCK NOW! We have a wide range of Display items to take your merchandising to the next level.

    1. Plan & Prepare!

Failing to plan is planning to fail, as they say! Make your life easier by planning ahead and preparing all of the materials you will need in advance. Have you decided on a theme, colours etc.? It may help you to sketch out what you are planning for reference.

Plan your display updates ahead of time, factoring in seasons & important occasions such as Mother’s Day, Valentine’s day, Easter etc. Pop them in your calendar so you & your customers don’t miss out!

    2. Change Your Displays Often

Keep your displays fresh and engaging by rotating stock often. This will help keep people’s interest.

These rustic trolleys are the perfect base for creating a versatile (and mobile!) display which can literally be carted around your retail space.

    3. Risers are a Must!

What’s a riser you ask? Anything that can be used as a surface to elevate a product, such as a box, a crate etc. Risers give height and variation to displays and are essential elements in the creative process, lifting from one level to several… the result is a visually appealing product presentation without much effort!

Crates & boxes make the perfect risers, especially if they come in a variety of heights like our RAM017 crates. They even have a chalkboard for some interesting typography or maybe you wish to highlight an offer?

It’s amazing how you can transform some old boxes you may already have with a coat of paint, or cover them in wallpaper. They’ll be so appealing in their own right that your customers will want to buy them too!

    4. Pyramid, Grouping & Space

This is the core theory of setting up an engaging display, so write this one down!

Working in a pyramid shape is vital to creating an eye-catching & professional display. Start with the largest and tallest items at the back and then build up the display moving outwards and downwards.

In this case, less is definitely more… leave room around the edges for the whole display to breathe. Reserve the main sections of the display for your star products and bestsellers.

Keep it simple until you get the hang of this technique… our pyramid display units are the perfect place to start RAM020.

    5. Add Some Height

Work on adding height to your display to attract attention & draw your customer’s eye down to the main focus point no matter where the display is situated.
Our birdcage table top units will do the trick.

    6. Finishing Touches

Put your own personal stamp on the display with the finishing touches. These are so easily forgotten but makes the difference between a standard display to a show-stopping one!

Smaller decorative items really bring the look together- the devil is the in detail! Try faux flowers for that added splash of colour to compliment your larger pieces. No watering required!

    7. Regular Housekeeping

You’ve put all this effort into creating a beautiful display- don’t let it get untidy! Tired and dusty displays will not help your sales. Follow this checklist to maintain your displays:

    • Check your lighting- do any bulbs need to be replaced? Are they dusty?
    • Is the display facing the traffic flow- things get picked up and turned, make sure they are put back facing where most of your foot traffic is coming from
    • Has anything fallen?
    • Are your windows dirty? Give them a good clean so they sparkle. Don’t forget dusty window sills and dead flies…
    • Has any of the product faded in the sun? Time to replace them to keep the display looking fresh.
